If I could change one thing about comics and it wasn't bringing all the Avengers characters Bendis & Brubaker have slaughtered back from the dead, it would be getting rid of Marvel's really @&#%!-ing irritating habit of teasing fans. I can't stand it when writers deliberately emotionally manipulate me in ways intentionally designed to upset or disappoint me - the knowledge that he/she's deriving amusement and satisfaction from my anger/irritation/pain really doesn't endear a writer to me. It's one of the readons I don't like fanfic writers who won't warn for character death/rape/other things they know are triggering for a lot of people - because they're withholding information about their story in hopes that they'll be able to upset or disturb readers more that way (on the other hand, at least they admit it).
