Man, I read that and just laughed. It's such a ridiculously limited viewpoint trying to pass itself off as factual and insightful. I was particularly entertained by all that stuff about fans never becoming creators, given the recent complaints that comics creators are giving in too much to their inner fans, and they fight with fans on message boards.

And all that stuff about fandom being a dark secret space. Good grief. No one's stopping her from writing all her fics down with a fountain pen while lying under a willow tree, and then mailing them to people.

Also I think her description of the Bohemian philosophy is pretty flawed, but never mind.
