Yeah, I hear you. I wrote a fic for The Fast and The Furious. I can't say I'm particularly fannish about it. Reading maybe 20 other stories is about the limit of my fannish activity for the film. On the other hand, I've never written for Star Trek, and it owns a huge chunk of my soul. I'm still a fan, and I consider myself a part of the fandom, if not on LJ. But when people on LJ ask me if I'm in Star Trek fandom, I have to say no, because what they're often asking is: do you read and write fics? do you make and look at fanart and vids?

Oh man, I read that post and was tempted to comment, but I knew it was best for my sanity if I didn't.
