Some New Kind of Slaughter
Four issues Some New Kind of Slaughter or Lost in the Flood (and How We Found Home Again), by mpMann and A. David Lewis, were available for legal download.
Slaughter is a dreamy look at mythic floods, ancient and modern. I only got as far as issue one, when I knew I had to share, which I did, at SD 2.0. A David Lewis showed up to thank me for spreading the word. Sometimes comics fandom is awesome, you know?
1500 people downloaded the comics, which were made available in hopes of building a buzz for the upcoming Harvey Awards. I think this is actually a brilliant idea for small press comics and non super comics, who don't have an audience to lose, but one to build. The complete series will be available from Archaia Studios in June, but if you like the preview image above, you can check out the five pages I posted on SD 2.0, to see the awesome you're missing out on.
