Well, if you do it, be prepared for what will inevitably follow: fighting crime in your spare time.

Quick, she needs a cape name.

Schmevil Kenevil?

Schmevil doesn't strike fear into the hearts of evildoers?

The Evil Weevil? Wait, that'll be her name when she gets exposed to magenta kryptonite and goes on an evil rampage.

What's incredible is that people actually do this. Have you seen the articles about the 'superheroes' who've cropped up in the US lately?

I seem to recall a few stories. But aren't they usually more like "dude wears a costume and helps kids cross the street safely" than "beats up drug dealers" or whatever?

People have been trying to fight real crime. In costumes. I boggle.

You know, I actually have thought about what I would do if I were to give costumed crime-fighting a try...and I came to the conclusion that it would generally consist of me standing at busy intersections like Yonge and Steeles, shaking my fist and yelling at bad drivers.

*g* Good plan. I live at Keele and Finch. It's a hooorible corner. I could stand there all day launching RPGs at bad drivers and never run out of targets.

Honestly, I don't think there are any good corners on Finch. Or Steeles. My theory is that because it's so close to the city's borders, TPTB don't bother to put as much effort or thought into those areas. Particularly with a street like Steeles, because one could argue it's half-Toronto/half-Vaughn or half-Toronto/half-Thornhill or whatever. "It's my backyard, but it's almost their backyard, so why bother?"

Heh. I've had this same thought. It could also explain the potholes.
