weird kinky fanfic, creators should write it

I sometimes think that creators should spend some of their downtime writing weird kinky fanfic about their own characters. Kinkfic can be an outlet for all those conflicted ~FEELINGS one has for fictional constructs--a place where one can punish the characters, satisfy them, give them what they deserve, break them down and put them back together. Not that I'm an expert on the subject--I wrote a series of kink drabbles a couple of years ago for Kiji and left it at that. Instead of spoiling the narrative arc with indulgent side trips through the creator's psyche--kinkfic. I mean, why not? There are those creators like Chris Claremont, where it's right on the page. And there are creators whose work is jammed with subtle and not so subtle suggestions of sexual play. Sometimes these elements add to the work, but when it becomes distracting, and is on the verge of derailing the story--I wish they'd take care of that shit on their own time.

Let's just say I still can't decide whether his books made me more or less accepting of BDSM and edgeplay, and leave it at that. XD

Robert Jordan. "The new author duplicates his style quite well," someone told me. "Is there lots of woman-on-woman spanking?" I asked. "No, no, there's - well, yes."
