I hate cards, but I also save them. I was looking through a box of mementos for a particular post card and jfc, so many many cards. Suffice it to say that if you have ever sent me ANYTHING, I probably still have the card, note, and possibly the envelope.
The thing is, I hate perfunctory cards. And I am a perfunctory card giver, most of the time. You can count on me to make clear how I feel about you in words (so many many words) and actions. Cards seem so beside the point. The exception being with people like yourselves, who I don't see everyday. A written note is special, somehow, when it's for someone I haven't seen in years, or have never seen.
It got me thinking that it might be nice to do non-holiday cards, after I've wrapped up some of the projects I'm working on.
