shoes/recs/WIPs

As some of you already know, I spent the weekend breaking in a pair of 4 1/2 inch shimmery purple heels. It's tough going but I have full confidence in my ability to eventually break the demon shoes. *whips shoes* I'm this close to 6ft in them. All shall love me and despair. I have also finally settled the hair issue with a lovely mix of dark and light reds. My hair takes to colour so very well. *pets it* I'll try to get a pic up for those of you that actually care about such things (all two of you), though my laziness might preclude it.

I've updated the recs journal with a few HP fics. SV should be... later. *g*

My break from writing is officially over but I'm no longer updating WIPs online. You see, I've taken a vow. I will never again post a WIP. I do apologize to anyone who feels burned by this new vow, but well... yeah. Bring on the tar and feathers, but I'm just no longer interested in fighting to meet self-imposed deadlines so people can enjoy some fic. I'm just too slow and lazy for this to be an effective mode of writing for me. I may post bits of story occasionally to special filters, for editorial comments but other than that I've rejoined the Light and been booted from the Sith Academy of Fic Writing. C'est la. -_^

I'm actively working on the Lexnapping, the jellofic and a sequel to A Metonymy of Desire.

ETA: I'm playing with wind-up toys. *cough* Expect pretentious wank. This may bleed over to FAP. Thread suggestions? I'm feeling like spreading the doom past SV. But for god's sake, not the slash-flame-war-of-much-stupidity. That one just needs to die.

Ha! Put me in 4 1/2 inch heels and I'll be 5' 5".

I agree with the no-WIP policy. Telanu and Resonant do the same.

My policy is, I'll post once it's written but not yet Beta'd. Then I post it as a WIP during the Beta process (which takes about three months for a 14-chapter fic). That's what I did with Primer, and it worked great. I knew it was done, I just had to tinker with it a little from week to week. The readers were getting a chapter a week, and everyone was happy.

I did post it as a WIP on ff.net as I wrote it last November, but that was to keep me going and give me a sense of accomplishment. I assumed it would be lost in the shuffle there. *I have to find another, more obscure webspace to do this now that people have read my stuff.*

Hey short stuff!

Yes, I'm not as wary about posting unbetaed things, although I do have a habit of writing into stories - adding more detail, additional scenes. Which, on the whole, isn't as bad as say, continuing the arc. I originally posted A+F as a WIP because it was the only way to get feedback of any kind on it. I had no contacts in the fandom, didn't even know about FA's existence and so couldn't find a beta. But now I've realized that it's just not a good way for me to write, since I often go back and tinker with things. Anyway. *g*

Question? I realize I may sound retarded by asking this, but what does WIP stand for? I think I get the idea of it, but what are the actual words?

Ah. Thank you. Lol, I feel like such a little kid. "What does this mean? What does that mean?"
Lol, don't mind me.
