nail polish/fps games

I am typing whilst my gun-metal gray polish dries. It's extreme journaling.

My brother and I spent the night downloading and sharing fannish stuff. I nabbed the movie trailers and songs and he ferreted out game demos. [livejournal.com profile] cedar85, thanks for the Zepplin recs. [livejournal.com profile] fizzingpop, thanks for all the other recs.

This summer looks good for movies. Hell, the rest of the year is looking good, but that's just fannish optimism. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Max. 28 Days Later. Waa! Job. The rest of the year looks absolutely fucking fantastic for FPS PC games. Doom 3. Halo 2. Half Life 2. Resident Evil OL. Waa! Upgrades.

Is it wrong to want to write a fic where Lex gets trapped in a first-person-shooter, VR game? With like, zombies?

Off for groceries. *waves pretty fingers*

We'ell... *considers* I really want to write Lex v. Zombies and I really want to write gamer!Lex, so this could be the best of both worlds...

You. Must. Write. This.

Will Clark be involved somehow? Or will it just be Lex?

Hee! Lex could be fighting to save Clark! Lmao!

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease write this fic.

Meep.

Well, I'm trying to work out when to set the fic. I could probably fit it into the run of the show - god knows that scientific developments on Smallville rarely come logically - but I could also make this a very nice, post-rift futurefic. I'm also considering making this my answer to Caro's Hardy Boys Challenge, which would mean Clark and Lex solving a mystery together... *ponders*

I'm not seeing a Lex-saves-Clark scenario, though it's possible. Have you ever played Counterstrike or similar games? They often devolve into a free-for-all. And you know, Lex is such a sniper. *g*

So far, I know that LuthorCorp is funding the development of the game but Lex can't figure out why. Naughty boy that he is, Lex gets into the game and it doesn't go all that well. Stuff, I don't know what, happens and Clark and Lois start investigating. More stuff. Lex goes back in and gets trapped. Stuff.

Yeah. I'm, um, working on it?

Ooh, me likee.
I've never played Counterstrike, but my brother's into all those kinds of games, so I think I know what you're talking about.

Gah, I so need to read this when you're finished. I know it's gonna be great.

Finished. Ha!

I hope I can finish it, but betwen this and my detective fic, I'm going to be working hard. O.o

[identity profile] r-me-time.livejournal.com 2003-05-15 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean. I rarely ever finish fics. But then, that's usually because they're so damn long that I lose interest in them. Lol.

Good luck, man! I like reading your stuff.

Hey thanks! I'm going to make the attempt at least. And in the meantime, I'm sure there'll be short fics, to keep us both busy. ;-)

[identity profile] r-me-time.livejournal.com 2003-05-15 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Good. And yes, I'll be busy trying to come up with an idea for a birthday fic. I'll try if you try! hehe.

Zombies make everything better. Unless like, you have pirates or ninjas. But there are no FPS games in which you're a pirate ninja shooting zombies.

And thank god for that. The moment there is a pirate-ninja FPS, I'm leaving the genre behind for good. Zombies, as has been proved by many a game and movie, really do make everything better. You know, there's a zombie challenge in Smallville fandom? I think we need one for HP.

I'd play more FPS if I didn't get motion sick. But yes, we definitely need more Zombies.

The first time I played Doom, I couldn't sleep for days. It just unbalances my system so much. I still get a little motion sick, more headaches than nausea, but when I get a good FPS on my system I can't stay away. I still remember the first time I played a game for 48 hours, pausing only to drink water, eat cracks and pee. Yes, I am obssessive. *g*
