Queer spaces...
This post is basically a bookmark of an interesting discussion, but I also have a request.
Can anyone link me to posts about the 'queerness' of straight women reading and writing femslash? I remember some discussion of this months ago, but I can't find it now.
hth_the_first: slash communities and queer fan communities.
telesilla: Academics and Straight Fans.
mecurtin: Take pity on my fail; also, my possibly unpopular opinion and What I mean by 'queer'.
ithiliana: response to
telesilla's post.
fairestcat: Queer People, Queer Acts and Queer Spaces.

Sorry I can't help you with linking to any discussions on queerness and femslash. I stay away from slashy corners of all fandoms now, since I've met some freakish misogyny in said environs from supposed feminists. But if I come across anything, I'll be sure to link you.

*twirl* She needs to be a regular in a series again. Preferably a series without Cable.
I've been reading femslash and (man)slash for over ten years, (though my preference is gen) and it's a hard habit to break. *g* But yeah, there are some really disturbing attitudes that come out in slash. Don't get me started on yaoi.
