question about Colleen and Misty

There are a couple of occasions I can think of where Misty says something like, "I love that crazy white girl." (I think in the Fraction run, and somewhere else). But Colleen is of course biracial and was raised in Japan - so what's up with the erasure? As if Danny Rand isn't problematic enough...

And on a related note - how is Colleen not getting more attention from writers? idgi

Colleen is of course biracial

Biracial? I thought she was Asian on both sides (maternal and paternal).

From *cough* Wikipedia:
Colleen's father is Professor Lee Wing, a teacher of Asian history and culture at New York Columbia University. Her mother was an unnamed Japanese woman, whose ancestors were samurai (warriors) and daimyo (feudal lords). Colleen's late maternal grandfather, Kenji Ozawa, was the head of Japan's secret service, and has been succeeded in that position by his brother.

If he had Colleen say, "I just love that crazy biracial girl" eyebrows would have been raised, I guess. Considering the dodgy myths that swirl around biracial characters when it comes to stories from back in the day.

Fraction is...not always the best with getting that stuff correct? I met Colleen through those scenes in Immortal Iron Fist so I had no idea she was biracial for a long time.

Colleen is cool and has a sword so basically, yes, more love please.
