OTW thing, you know
1. Good god. I love the organization, but volunteers, you need to take care of yourselves first, before you take care of OTW and AO3. You do not need to go down with this ship. Hell, the ship won't go down if you do take time off. I understand how OMG URGENT things seem on the inside of a big fandom project, and too, just how much whackness you can put up with, if it appears to serve the needs of the community. But the thing is? The community doesn't want you to overwork yourself. The community doesn't want you to get burned out. Don't let anyone, not your organizational supervisor, not fandom friends (and enemies), and not your inner over-worker tell you otherwise. You come first. The needs of the many, are not in any way served by the abuse, neglect, and overwork of the few.
2. The OTW, in effect, claims to represent fandom. Therefore, all of fandom gets to weigh in on the organization's mission, its day to day business, and the upcoming elections. Every AO3 user, writer or reader, has a stake in this (if they want one), whether they have paid for a membership, volunteered for the organization, or just used its services. Ordinary users of the archive are its 'customers'. Non OTW affiliated fans are the very people the organization seeks to represent. Their voices matter a whole hell of a lot.
3. Hey an apology for the redesign issues!
4. Are you reading the FFA threads on the subject? Because you should be. (If you're interested in the OTW elections and the future of the org, that is. The rest of you carry on).
5. Banana.
