badficsupport is a multi-fandom effort to reserve a place in lj land for those poor souls who have been traumatized by badfic. If you've ever been driven to vase-throwing, screaming or weeping by a stinking rag of mind-numbing dreck, masquerading as fan fiction, this is the community for you. Shred. Whine. What scares me is that "badficsupport" sounds like support for badfic, i.e. all those fangirlies writing "reviews" consisting of, "OMG! That was awesum! Write more now please!" for misbegotten ungrammatical misspelled out-of-character plotless wet dreams belonging to twelve-year-olds.

Am wondering why read badfic at all? I avoid it, personally, and stick to fic that people I trust rec me. What's the appeal of reading badfic in the first place? Am curious.

We all have our reasons. Personally, there's something fun about reading something so utterly terrible and pointing out the mechanical/technical errors. Then there are the badfics that are so bad they're good - like an Ed Wood film.

Get a bunch of people together, all talking about the same badfic and it's really quite amusing.

(And sometimes you just want to be a catty bitch and badfic provides an easy target. ~_^)
