Couple things

1. I haven't been able to sign into my yahoo account in days, so if anyone's sent me a message and I haven't responded, I do apologize, but you can reach me at mhc_black at myway.com.

2. My HD ate Arithmancy and Flowers. [livejournal.com profile] icarusancalion was able to provide me a copy up to the "Fools and Gryffindors" interlude but there are several chapters after that. Does anyone know of a full copy floating around? I do have parts of the later chapters and interludes on hand, but not the full text.

3. Anyone interested in co-writing a Smallville fic with me? I'd like to try co-writing, as an exercise, if nothing else, and I have a number of ideas that I'm getting nowhere with on my own. *wheedles*

4. What do you think of story notes? If I were to write about my own stories - why I chose to explore certain themes, employed particular devices, characterized thusly - would you be interested? Would you in turn write about your stories in the same way?

I have written story notes for all of my fics but never got around to actually posting them any where. Though I do tend to put a lot of the same info in my overy lengthy author notes. I like the idea and wish lots of authors would do them. For some fics I am just interested in how they conceived of the fic and whatnot as I am in the actual fic.

I've never really done author's notes. My first fic was a WIP that I never finished. After that I was always in the habit of finished, editing and posting as quickly as possible, without frills.

For some fics I am just interested in how they conceived of the fic and whatnot as I am in the actual fic.

I've also always been interested in seeing how people developed their ideas, what extracanonical influences were involved, what they expect us to read into their fiction. Only for the good fics, though. *cough*

I've sent you a message! But there is no hurry or even reply expected.

You know, I've always wanted to try a co-write, but I was always afraid that it'll turn into a disaster. Two writers with different styles (different opinions) mixing work can probably get messy. Then again, don't knock it till you tried it. *deep sigh* So I'd like to apply for the job if no one better and more experienced volunteers.

Let's do it! Hell, it'll probably be a total disaster but I'm sure it'll be fun to attempt. *g*

Tried to reply yesterday but lj was doing its impersantion of Brat!Lex. *g*

Disaster is always fun when you're the one creating it. It's a deal. *shakes hand*

Um... now what? Heh. You wanna email me with how you wanna do this?

I've written story notes for a few of my stories - they're on my website linked to the stories. I am not excited about what seems to be the latest trend of interspersing story notes within the (author's notes version of the) story, though. I'd rather have it be a completely separate file.

In general I really like to learn what the author thought about her own story while writing it.

Me too. I really don't see the value in chopping up your own fiction in this way. It reeks too much of "You will read this MY WAY," and as far as I'm concerned, kills the story dead. A play by play isn't just boring, it's inhibiting.
