also, regarding SPN 5.20
Had the bones of a good episode: solid story, interesting characters and performances, but something about it fell flat. Maybe the pacing, maybe the freaking cinematography - I don't know. I'd have to watch again to pin it down but it was lacking.
It's also left me with a very strong need for Sam to meet a wonderful girl next season, fall madly, desperately in love, and for the show to end without her dying. And he gets a dog. Possibly a house, or a tasteful condo. You know, let's just go crazy with this: he gets a haircut, some nice shirts, perhaps a fulfilling career. Shit, just throw the guy a bone or six.
Although, on a happier note, this episode came very close to hitting one of my YES PLEASE MOTHERFUCKER buttons: so close to Rampaging Sam! and yet, and yet. There needs to be an episode where Sam and Dean go undercover in an illegal fight circuit as part of a case. This, so I can satisfy my very real need for shirtless Winchester MMA throwdowns. I mean, really.
Crowley was cool. Brady was cool. Dean was boring. Bobby was BAMF. There's not a whole lot to say about this one, is there?
Um. Glad to see the brothers getting along. Glad to see ~Detroit is getting sketched out for us. Enjoyed the glimpses of demonic politics. *drums fingers* Yeah, that is pretty much that.
