Leo DiCaprio does not suck!

lavenderoracle and I have updated our series for
stagesoflove. You can find links to all the drabbles completed so far in my fic index. Pirates of the Caribbean, Jack/Will, PG13.
Have added more to the gangster!Snape fic, the Quidditch-Scout!Ron fic and the sequel to last year's remix. Am still stymied by this year's remix. Due soon. Ouch.
Boring Journal Maintenance: Defriended everyone on my fic and rec journals because it's too much trouble to keep track of those and defriended a bunch of people on this journal because again, too much trouble to keep track of everyone when I have two jobs, school, meals to cook, plants to tend, and a disabled parent to look after. Added Fast and the Furious writers I like.
Leo DiCaprio: In high school I really started to loathe the sight of him. I don't know if it was the combination of Romeo and Juliet and Titanic, or the non-stop squeeing of my classmates but the mere mention of his name was enough to make me twitch. I took a vow to never see Titanic and I've kept that vow with very little trouble.
The thing is though, at some point I stopped being annoyed by him. I just couldn't pretend to hate What's Eating Gilbert Grape and Catch Me If You Can anymore. I don't really know when that changed, but what I do know is that by the time The Aviator was released I'd become quite fond of him.
Leo DiCaprio is a good actor.
No. Really. I don't put much stock in the Oscars but he has been nominated twice. And an even better indicator that he has some small smidgeon of talent - he's worked with Scorcese twice.
He brings passion, compexity, honesty and intensity to all his parts and even when he screws up (WTF was with the accent in Gangs of NY?!), it's entertaining. I don't think I've ever seen him be wooden or one-dimensional.
Anyway,
destina talks about the Baz Luhrman Alexander movie, which may not be dead in the water. Likely not to please
cedarlibrarian, who can't stand the sight of DiCaprio. Much like many of you. So if, hypothetically, this movie gets off the ground, with DiCaro as Alexander and Nicole Kidman as his mother, would you go see it? And more importantly - who would you cast as Hephaestion?
